Grading

Grading is pretty straightforward in all classes. Being in class, arriving on time, submitting assignments when due, taking the midterm and preparing a completed final project usually means you will be getting a good grade. Instructors are also held to strict deadlines. We are not allowed to miss these. Make sure you meet your responsibilities, too.

COURSE ASSIGNMENTS:

There are assignments due each week for the class. They are time stamped. There is always an EOC due for class. The EOC is not revealed until near the end of class. You will have time to finish it. It must be submitted to the drop-box before you leave. If the class has a blog, your post must be posted to the blog before you leave class. All assignments must be properly submitted to get credit. Every class has a final project. It is due on the last day of class. The final project (final + Professionalism) is worth 40% of your grade.

There are no excused absences. Missing one class (or its equivalent) may have an impact on the studentÕs grade. Missing two classes (or its equivalent) will have a negative impact on a grade, especially if the classes are missed in a row. Missing more than three classes will make it difficult to get enough pointÕs meet the educational objectives and to pass the class. Missing a midterm will have a strong negative impact on the final grade. Missing the final will result in a grade of F. It is important for you to note that the grading criteria/matrix for this class is not attendance based, but rather participation, professionalism and performance. If you believe you are falling behind or having academic difficulties, you are strongly encouraged to discuss your ability to succeed with me before consideration be given to withdrawing from the course.
